Petanque: League competition-Tryers and Mont Buxton teams winners |09 July 2009

Tryers, comprising Joseph Charles, Auguste Louise, Julien Ernest and Antoine Botsoie, are the men’s winners with 48 points – six more than the total of runners-up Mont Buxton ‘A’, made up of Roland Renaud, Bernard Chang-Time, Ivan Anacoura and Gianni Ceccato.
Third with 34 points were the La Digue ‘A’ team of Golty Asba, John Radegonde, Armstrong Jean and Justin Songoire.
The remaining five places in the final standings were occupied by Takamaka ‘A’ (32 points), Mont Buxton ‘B’ (28), La Digue ‘B’ (22), Takamaka ‘B’ (12) and Takamaka ‘C’ (8).
The Mont Buxton team of Sheila Chang-Time, Livia Sinon, Sheena Mangroo and Virna Fanny won the women’s title ahead of the Beau Vallon squad comprising Vivianne Finesse, Willette Volcère, Marie-May Savy and Laura Joubert.
Third were another Beau Vallon team of Xianne Joubert, Sheila Adolphe, Dorothy Joubert and Betty Joubert.
Only one male junior team – Mont Buxton – took part in the competition and they played with the ladies.
Made up of James Delpeche, Mario Dufresne, Nicholas Chang-Time and Sheldon Ernesta, the Mont Buxton team were automatically ranked first.
