Tourism marketing head in talks with Condor airline

The airline has been operating a weekly service linking Seychelles and Germany for many years.

Mr St Ange was accompanied at last week’s meeting by his regional manager in Germany, Edith Hunzinger. Condor was represented by Dr Mark Jacquemin from the network department and Ilona Germes, the airline’s manager for international relations and government affairs.

Condor, like all airlines, is constantly reviewing its operations and the routes it flies, and Seychelles is a destination that has worked well for it in the past. So this meeting was seen as a chance for Mr St Ange to update the German delegation on the new tourism management structure put in place by the government earlier this year.

The Seychellois delegation also met Regina Klotz, Condor’s vice-president for scheduling and tour operator sales, at the Condor Thomas Cook offices.

Mr St Ange said the meeting was fruitful and such talks are the way forward for Seychelles.
“Tourism is a human industry and a people affair. This is why personal contacts remain so important,” he said.

“I am happy we had this meeting with Condor, because it gave us the opportunity to discuss the airline’s present concerns and to establish avenues for future discussions and cooperation.”
