Pirates seize ship in Seychelles’ waters |16 October 2009

The Joint Rescue Coordination Centre at the Seychelles Coast Guard said the Kota Wajar was seized inside Seychelles’ exclusive economic zone while on its way from the Far East to Mombasa, Kenya.

It is believed the ship is now heading towards Somalia.

The coast guard and anti-piracy forces in the region are monitoring the situation closely and contact has been made with the vessel’s agent in Singapore.
