Copies of the new timetable are already available at the SPTC office at the Victoria bus terminal and cost R5.

Members of the public can also access the new timetable on the company’s website at www.sptc.sc and on internet supported mobile phones (WAP).

Chief executive of the Seychelles Public Transport Corporation (SPTC) Veronique Laporte said the adjustments will enable the company to better operate in line with the new frequency due to additional trips on various routes.

She explained that bus frequency changed after SPTC reduced the intervals between trips in an effort to better the service and ease the life of the customers and also to cater for the increasing demand.

Ms Laporte also said the new schedule will help to cut down on speeding as it will give drivers enough time to go from one point to another compared to the previous one.

Other technical areas improved through the new timetable are bigger buses in routes with higher passenger demand, a more efficient and reliable service during peak hours and also additional trips on various routes, including in the weekends.

Ms Laporte added that the SPTC will start its new schedule with existing resources and will later boost it with the arrival of new busses.
