Labiche cleared the bar at 1.68m at the second attempt on Sunday and then failed all three attempts at 1.73m.
Her performance is 11cm short of her Seychelles record of 1.79m set two years ago at the Stad Popiler.
Nicole Forrester of Canada won the gold medal after clearing 1.91m. Second was Jamaican Sheree Latoya Francis with a height of 1.88m, the same as bronze medallist Levern Spencer of St Lucia.
In cycling, Francis Louis and Andy Rose abandoned the 168km race on the second lap on Sunday around Delhi’s streets.
Australian Allan Davis produced a scintillating last-lap burst to win in 3 hours 49 minutes 48 seconds. Davis, 30, had been a world championship bronze medallist in Geelong. New Zealand’s Hayden Roulston and Scotland’s David Millar were second and third.
Pre-race favourite Mark Cavendish of the Isle of Man looked dejected as he crossed the finish line 59 seconds further back.
In weightlifting, Terrence Dixie was ranked eighth out of 20 competitors in the men’s 85kg weight category with an Olympic total of 280kg (130 in snatch and 150 in clean & jerk).
The gold medal was won by Australian Simplice Ribouem with 333kg (150kg in snatch and 183kg in clean & jerk). New Zealander Richard Patterson 331kg (150kg in snatch and 181kg in clean & jerk) and Canadian Mathieu Marineau 325kg (145kg in snatch and 180kg in clean & jerk) took the silver and bronze medals.
In table tennis, Janice Mellie lost 4-0 to both Sun Yang of New Zealand and Megan Philips of Wales, and
Christy Bristol fell 1-4 to Nelson Claire of Northern Ireland and 0-4 to Nigerian Ogandele in the women’s singles events.
After beating South African Molahloe Itumeleng 4-3 in the first round of the men’s singles, Godfrey Sultan lost his second match 2-4 against a Sri Lankan.
In the mixed doubles event, Bristol and Nibourette lost 0-4 to a Nigerian pair, while Mellie and Sultan fell by the same scoreline against a duo from host country India.
Nibourette and Sultan teamed up in the men’s doubles event and lost 0-4 to a duo from Vanuatu.
In badminton, Kervin Ghislain lost his second-round men’s singles encounter 0-2 to a Sri Lankan following his first-round win against a Jamaican.
In the mixed doubles, Steve Malcouzane and Alisen Camille lost 0-2, while the pair of Juliette Ah-Wan and Georgie Cupidon fell 0-2 to an English duo.
In the women’s doubles, Ah-Wan and Camille lost 0-2 to a Malaysian pair, while Cupidon and Malcouzane were edged 1-2 by a Ugandan team in the men’s doubles.
