Fitness Seychelles – Praslin crazy challenge-Jean-Baptiste smashes round-Praslin record |21 October 2010
In last Saturday’s fourth Praslin crazy challenge, he took 3 hours 07 minutes 31 seconds
The competitors then headed to Côte d’Or, Anse Boudin, Mont Plaisir, Amitié, Grand Anse and Consolation before reaching the finish line at the Baie Ste Anne office. A total of 34 competitors completed the course.
The previous best time of 3h36:00 belonged to Gordon Payet, who set it in 2007.
Second overall was Hervé Nicholas in 3h35:42, followed in third place by Steve Marie in 3h38:15.
The first woman to cross the finish line was Jenna Valentin in 4h25:51 to take first place in the female over-40 category and seventh position overall.
Second to Valentin in the female over-40 category was Marie-Andrée Contoret in 4h57:40 (12th overall).
Mary-Joe Joubert stopped the clock at 4h41:00 (8th overall) to win the female 18-39 division ahead of Antoinette Dubel (10th overall in 4h45:10).
The male over-40 category winner was Jimmy Jacques in 4h18:49 (5th overall), followed in second place by Wesson Bacco (9th overall in 4h41:45).
Mikeler Lesperance clocked 4h21:06 (6th overall) to win the male 10-17 years category ahead of Yannick Hoareau, who was placed 11th overall in 4h56:12.
Sophia Esparon took victory in the female 10-17 years category in 6h20:56 and she came in accompanied by her mother Peggy Esparon, who clocked the same time.
The women’s record of 4h11:38 belongs to Vivienne Vadivello, who set it last year when she finished second overall.
All top-two finishers of the Praslin crazy challenge organised by the Sports for All Unit (SFAU) within the National Sports Council received cash prizes.
