Air Seychelles and Air India sign code share accord

By the end of November all Air Seychelles flights operated by the airline’s Boeing 767-300 planes will have lie-flat seats

Air Seychelles will start operating its service to Chennai on November 1, and with the signing it will be able to sell Air India link flights from there to other destinations in India.

Air India will do the same from the other side, selling Air Seychelles’ flights from Chennai as a link with its own flights throughout India.

With this agreement, Air Seychelles has increased its sales potential inside India and will be able to use the wide network of Air India to better market its flights.

The weekly Seychelles-Chennai flight does not only offer clients a direct link between Seychelles and India but also gives passengers from India the chance to fly on to Mauritius or South Africa from Seychelles without having to change airlines.

Meanwhile, Air Seychelles is ready for the inaugural flight to Chennai on November 1, when there will be entertainment at the international airport to mark the occasion.

Lie-flats seats on all Air Seychelles’ long-haul flights

In another development, Air Seychelles has announced that by the end of November all its three Boeing 767-300 planes will have been refurbished with a new-look Pearl Class.

So far, only two have been refurbished but the third plane, B767-300 FCS, will be in Singapore from November 8-18 when Singapore Airlines will fit it with the new facilities.

This means that by the end of November all Air Seychelles flights operated by these planes will have lie-flat seats and the extra comfort of a revamped business class. This includes more space, a hand-held entertainment system and a power supply for laptop computers.
