This move was designed to pass on greater benefits to workers in general.

The ministry explained that the reduction in tax was at a cost to the state only – the payroll for the employer remained the same.

The ministry is encouraging all workers to examine their payslips to ensure the appropriate increase has been passed on to them in line with the government’s objective.
