Serbian TV crew capture true Creole essence

A mock-up wedding to bring out Seychelles’ strong romantic appeal

Their aim was to film activities connected with the festival and to experience and showcase different aspects of the destination as a whole.

Seychelles is well known in Serbia as a getaway of great beauty, and the opportunity to further emphasise this could not have come at a better time as the islands were dressed in multi-colours for the annual festival.

The journalists covered events from the traditional Laserenad parade to the fashion show Fon Lanmal, including the finals of the traditional kanmtole dance competition.

They also travelled to other islands such as Silhouette, where they covered the activities on October 30 that were organised especially for the festival.

The group did not miss out on the chance to present Seychelles as a romantic destination, which is very much how it is perceived in the Baltic region. A mock-up wedding was organised to bring out this strong selling point in their programme.

Serbia is a market with promising potential, and Seychelles has the attributes and attractions that greatly appeal to tourists from that region. This came out during the crew’s interview with Alain St Ange, chief executive of the STB, who gave his firm commitment to further develop promotions in that region.

The film footage shot by the Serbian crew will lead to at least eight programmes for broadcast on RTS. This will guarantee Seychelles gains exposure in that region and help to create greater awareness in the travel market.
