IOT rewards more outstanding staff |15 March 2011
They received their certificates in a short ceremony in the IOT training room recently in the presence of general manager Tony Lazazzara, human resources officer Brenda Rousseau, operations manager François Rossi and other staff.
Mrs Onezia, as a senior supervisor in the label and case department, was nominated by the IOT managers, who then judged how proactive she has been in creating a safe working environment for other staff.
IOT spokesperson Barney Adeline said supervisors are also judged on how well they carry out the company’s safety regulations in their everyday tasks.
Mrs Onezia received a shield and a R2,000 cheque as a sign of appreciation for all her hard work.
François Be, a rack pusher, joined the company in January 2009 and was nominated for the award by his colleagues at the factory.
Once nominated, his attendance and time keeping, discipline and general attitude – among other things – were judged to see whether he deserved the award.
Those who nominated Mr Be then filled in a form to say whether he had met all the criteria the firm sets for its employee of the month awards.
He was awarded a shield and a R1,000 cheque for being an exemplary employee.
