Les Li Viv gives hope to teenage mothers |11 June 2011

The “Hope for Teenage Mother’s Project” is funded under the Economic Reform Social Programme (ERSP) administered by the Liaison Unit of Non-governmental Organisations (Lungos).

The project will build on past efforts by Les Li Viv to provide parenting support and skills development programme for teenage mothers from communities around Mahé, particularly those who find themselves at a disadvantage and feel the need to move forward from their current situation, to gain a sense of purpose in their lives, and to start developing their own undiscovered potential.

The programme is designed to instill good living values and social skills, so that the young mothers are empowered to cope with parenting and positively improve their livelihood.

Les Li Viv is a charitable organisation which aims towards ensuring relief of crisis pregnancy and providing maximum support to teenage mothers.

It is the sole pro-life organisation of its kind in Seychelles and since its creation in 1993 it has provided support and counseling services for more than 300 teenage mothers and saved over 310 babies, including twins.

Les Li Viv is calling on teenage mothers to grasp this opportunity and join its programme, which will help them identify economic alternatives through skills development training in the areas of computing, sewing, handicraft, culinary art.

For registration contact Les Li Viv on 323535 before June 14, 2011 as the programme kicks off on June 15, 2011.
