A Seychelles wedding for German entertainer Roberto Blanco and bride |17 June 2011

The happy couple were joined by nearly 40 guests for a sundowner trip aboard the Sea Pearl to Thérèse Island and a cruise through the Sainte Anne Marine National Park.

The wedding itself took place on April 9 at the Constance Ephelia Resort where Blanco, exchanged vows with his wife-to-be in the presence of several close friends and a Seychellois priest.

Also present at the ceremony were Mr Blanco’s lawyer, Dr. Micheal Scheele and his Seychellois wife Lindy, who are also the Seychelles Tourism Ambassadors in Munich, Germany.

Mrs Scheele was responsible for organising the entire trip for the couple in close collaboration with the Seychelles Tourism Board office in Germany.

Following the beautiful ceremony, guests were invited to a private dinner followed the next day by a “honeymoon” picnic.

It is to be noted that this is not the first time that Seychelles has welcomed Mr Blanco to its shore. The singer has visited the islands before through his participation in the “Race to Seychelles” – a golf tournament played by the “Bogey Golfers” of Munich, which is a private initiative of approximately 70 amateur players, of which Dr. Scheele serves as club president.

While the first two rounds of the “Race to Seychelles” tournament were played in Germany last year, the final round was held in Seychelles at the Constance Lemuria on Praslin, where the winner was actor Christian Kohlund.

The Seychelles Tourism Board has said the wedding is another example where the romance appeal of the destination stands out.

Glamorous weddings and honeymoons continue to make Seychelles the dream destination for all holidays of a lifetime, it said.
