He was addressing a new group of partners who had brought forward their financial contributions towards the IOIG.

During the presentation, which took place at the Games’ secretariat at Oceangate House in the presence of Games commissioner Eric Arnephie, Mr Meriton thanked the sponsors for their response to the call for more support.

He once again reassured them that every cent counts and their contributions will be wisely used to ensure the success of the Games.

The 15 new sponsors are Constance Ephelia Resort (R200,000), Sahajanand Builders (R65,000), One Hour Photo (R15,000), General Auto Parts (R15,000), Kot Raj Supermarket (R15,000), Medent Specialised Dental Clinic (R10,000), Sir James Mancham (R10,000), Dr Murthy’s Medical and Gastro Clinic (R5,000), Universal Solution (R5,000), Sey Style Tailoring (R5,000), Calou Guest House (R3,000), Margaret Louise (R1,000), MGM Logistic and Entertainment (R500), Japhet Dailoo (R500), Anea and Manuel Androise (R500).

Yesterday’s sum of R345,500.00 and the R677,624.30 collected on Monday make a total of R1,023, 124,30 collected by the fundraising committee this week.

The total sum in the coffers of the committee after Thursday’s presentation is R31,653,597.26 and the ceiling is R42 million.
