Vuvuzelas banned at indoor games |10 August 2011

Concerns have been raised after these instruments have been found to interfere with the technical aspects during matches as they make loud noises.

These vuvuzelas and small horns also affect the athletes’ concentration during matches.

Those selling these instruments can still do so as there will be other venues where vuvuzelas will be allowed. These include open and spacious venues such as Stad Linite.

Minister for Community Development, Youth and Sports Vincent Meriton, who is also the chairman of the Games Bureau, said he and his team want the best for the Seychelles Team.

“We want them to concentrate and give their very best during the Games,” he said.
Mr Meriton added that he is satisfied with the Games and the effort the teams and individuals are putting in their matches.

He added that the opening ceremony was also a success, the show was spectacular and that the coordinator Raymond Clarisse and his team have done a great job.
