Air Seychelles launches new livery and logo |20 September 2011
This was in the presence of the Minister for Home Affairs, Environment, Transport and Energy, Joel Morgan, the airline’s new board of directors, executive chairman Maurice Loustau-Lalanne as well as the newly appointed chief executive Bram Steller. Also present was Air Seychelles’ deputy chief executive Garry Albert and other staff.
The new livery and logo, which is part of the airline’s rebranding project, was spearheaded by Air Seychelles’ organisational development department headed by Hazel Ho Peng.
Talking about the logo and livery, Mr Loustau-Lalanne said they will also be launched at the Top Resa tourism fair in Paris soon.
“It is based on the nature and magnificent ecosystem that Seychelles boasts and is the muse behind the creation of the logo which is a fluid organic shape, like that of a leaf, and has been adopted to signal our support for a greener Seychelles and a greener Earth.”
In a press release from Air Seychelles, Mrs Ho Peng said the red and green colours have been used in different tones to add dimension and depth, and for a more leafy effect – the focus still being on nature.
She added that the more modern, fresh and expressive image is still reigned over by the trademark pair of Fairy Terns, that has been the Air Seychelles icon for many years.
“The pair of Fairy Terns, softened into an abstract and flowing silhouette, is the primary visual symbol of Air Seychelles.”
She said the word ‘air’ is a lighter blue signifying the sky, while ‘Seychelles’ is a darker blue to signify the ocean.
Mrs Ho Peng said the striking colours with the abstracted images of the birds and leaves are aimed at evoking the Seychelles’ Creole Spirit, which brings us to our tagline: ‘Flying the Creole Spirit’.
In a PowerPoint presentation guests were able to see how the international livery and the new logo will look on one of its Boeings.
And in line with the Seychelles brand positioning it was also decided to integrate the colours of the newly launched Seychelles Tourism Board’s logo on the domestic fleet.
This new concept was also introduced and its objective was to showcase the best Seychelles has to offer.
These logos celebrate our colourful and remarkable flora, our animated marine life, our azure sea, or vibrant green foliage and our vibrant nature. One aircraft in the domestic fleet already has this livery.
