A message from Tupa’i Bruno of The Magic Circus of Samoa |18 January 2014

‘Thank you to all the wonderful people of Seychelles’

We are now in Reunion Island with our circus; our tent is far gone from your shores now but the memory we carry from seeing thousands of cheers, feeling countless tears of excitement and most importantly hearing the uncontrollable laughter will be with us forever.

I wanted to write this letter just to reinforce my great appreciation and thanks to so many kind, sincere and wonderful people in the Seychelles that made the first circus in history there a true success.

First, you have a Minister for Tourism and Culture that eats and breathes his work with such zest…I have hardly ever seen anyone that is so dynamic and hardworking to make things happen.

I am royally privileged to have had the pleasure of working with Minister Alain St Ange and his great staff.  I have contacted our Prime Minister of Samoa to express to him how truly we felt about the minister’s support of our circus and he was very pleased and will be in contact shortly to express his thanks also on behalf of the people of the Independent State of Samoa.

Also …Sherin Naiken (the chief executive of the Seychelles Tourism Board) did a fine job. She appointed a lovely lady to be with us every day making sure everything was just right, a person steadfast in her organisational abilities….

Thank you our true friend Beryl Matatiken for a great job, all your hard work and your friendship to all my crew.

And I really want to mention someone very special to us that I called almost every day whenever we needed something for the circus…..someone that became a true friend of the circus and went out of her way to help us….Thank you very, very much Sam Mason (and Caroline too). You made our time in the Seychelles even more spectacular by kindheartedly taking our crew on hikes and cruises to enjoy your beautiful islands even more….we will never forget you, your kindness and extreme generosity.

A lovely family, people that care for other people and really just wanted to do something nice for my entire crew….the family that owns and operates the Boathouse Restaurant….we salute you for the best Creole food and your generosity….

Lastly…..our big, Samoan thanks go to YOU the people of the Seychelles for supporting our circus so grandly!  You will always be in our hearts and memories….and everywhere we go here in the Indian Ocean has its own special beauty…… but the Seychelles is the number one island nation in the Indian Ocean for us……and we will tell the world!  THANK YOU SEYCHELLES and we wish you a really great 2014 to all!
