'Lost world' coffee table book with snapshots of Seychelles underwater world is reprinted |25 January 2014

Snapshots of the Seychelles’ rich underwater world have been reprinted in the second version of the coffee table book 'Lost World'.

Thomas P. Peschak’s signature photos are used again in this second edition of the book.

Mr Peschak is famous for his outdoor photography and is described as one of the 40 most influential nature and environment photographers in the world.

In the book 'Lost World', Mr Peschak captures some of the most impressive shots of the Seychelles aquatic and land flora and fauna species.

The photographs used have been selectively taken for their scientific and conservation elements.

Mr Peschak, who is working in Seychelles with an environmental conservation body, worked in close partnership with the Save our Seas Foundation for the publication of 'Lost World'.

Micheal C. Scholl, chief executive officer of the Save Our Seas Foundation, presented copies of the reprinted version of 'Lost World' to tourism principal secretary Anne Lafortune and Seychelles Tourism Board’s chief executive Sherin Naiken.

The first edition of 'Lost World' hit the market in 2010.

Mr Scholl said that the reprinted version of 'Lost World' is a gift from the Save our Seas Foundation to the people of Seychelles.

“The reprinted copies of 'Lost World' will be distributed in all schools and libraries on the islands. Three educational booklets will be distributed with the books as an educational tool for the schools,” he said.

'Lost world' is an excellent environmental kit for school children. It not only allows the readers to indulge into the magnificent photographs of Seychelles’ most fascinating land and water creatures, but it’s a gold mine of information for people interested in the conservation efforts on Aldabra and Bird Island.

Mr Scholl said that Mr Peschak invested time and energy in photographing these species.

PS Lafortune and CEO Naiken both thanked Mr Scholl for this publication saying that it “will be a good marketing tool for Seychelles”.
