Pakistani high commissioner accredited |19 March 2014
The new Pakistani high commissioner to Seychelles, Major General Ulfat Hussain, presented his credentials to President James Michel at State House yesterday.
He described his discussions with the President as a very positive dialogue on the existing cordial relations between the two countries.
He said as far as Seychelles and Pakistan are concerned they have a lot to share and in the coming months the existing ties in the field of diplomacy, banking, education, trade will further be enhanced.
Talking on the existing cooperation in the field of diplomacy between Pakistan and Seychelles, the high commissioner said the two countries are cooperating in international forums.
He said both countries want peace, are against terrorism and piracy.
Both Seychelles and Pakistan are already cooperating in trade, training of Seychellois people in banking and diplomatic issues, he added.
Major General Ulfat Hussain also announced that a delegation from Pakistan will soon be coming to Seychelles to study what technical steps Pakistan can take to further enhance cooperation between the two countries.
Following his accreditation, Major Hussain, the 12th Pakistani high commissioner accredited to Seychelles, also paid a courtesy call on the Speaker of the National Assembly, Dr Patrick Herminie, yesterday.
