Tim Marie appointed acting road transport commissioner |30 April 2014
Tim Marie has been appointed acting road transport commissioner, the Ministry of Home Affairs and Transport has said.
The appointment was made and confirmed yesterday morning by Home Affairs and Transport Minister Joël Morgan.
Mr Marie has been engaged in the civil service having worked in the department of transport for eight years, and was most recently the director for policy planning and development.
He holds an MSC in Transport and Planning with an MA in Leadership and Strategy and a BSC in Geology.
The new acting road transport commissioner has said that among his priorities will be road safety in general, and as well addressing drunk driving offences which have led to an increase in road traffic fatalities, coordinating his responses with the Seychelles police.
He replaces Patrick Andre who is now the principal secretary for transport.
