A chosen generation (Prt 2)
A discovery of who we are in Christ is the gateway to the fulfilment of our glorious destiny. Teaching centres around unveiling the true picture of the redeemed from the pages of scriptures. We recognise that, only those who truly know who they are can make the most of their lives. – Phil 4:13. The question was posed to John, who are thou?
And he responded; “I am the voice of one crying in the wilderness, Make straight the way of the Lord” - Jn 1:19-23
Therefore, a discovery of who we are as contained in scriptures is key to being in command of the things happening in and around our lives – Lk 4:17-18/Heb 10:5-7
We also understand that:
• The Bible is a book of revelations showing us the way to go about life -Deut 28:1-13/2Tim3:16-17
• Also importantly, the Bible is a book of visions unveiling God’s plan and purposes for our lives - Is 29:11-12/ Is 2:1/ Is 14:24
• Most interestingly, the Bible is a spiritual mirror that reveals who the redeemed really are - Jam 1:21-25 (See also Pro 27:19/ Eph 5:26)
The Bible declares that, we are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a peculiar people, called out of darkness to live a life to be marvelled at, a wonder-packed life - 1Pet 2:9
Furthermore, we are only empowered to become what we believe – Jn 1:12. It is faith that commits God to perform His words in our lives – Lk 1:45. This is why a good understanding of the mystery of faith is crucial to manifesting who we really are – Matt 9:29. This is because Faith is not a religious theory, it is a mystery of the Kingdom (1Tim 3:9). Therefore Faith is not a principle, nor a strategy, it is a spiritual force (1Cor 2:4-5)
What then is Faith?
- Faith is a spiritual partnership with the INVISIBLE thereby empowering us to do the impossible - Ex33:11 / Heb 11:24-27 - Matt 28:20 / Mk 16:20
- Faith is a spiritual engraftment into divinity thereby turning the individual into a sign and a wonder - Rom 11:17-23 / Is 7:14/ Jn 10:30
- Faith is reasoning with God in the light of His word until one is fully persuaded that what God has promised He is able to perform - Rm 4:17-21
- Faith is taking spiritual responsibility in the light of scriptures thereby committing God’s integrity to perform - 1Cor 6:18/1Thess 5:22/Heb 12:4/14/Ps 1:1-3
- Faith is a spiritual force within that determines the triumphs without
- Matt 9:21-23/Rom 10:10 - Act 14:9-10 / Heb 4:2
- Faith is not a dormant force, it is a dominant force - Mk 1:27, Lk 8:25, 2Kg 1:10-15
WE ARE ORDAINED BY GOD FOR THE FOLLOWING DIVINE ASSIGNMENTS:
1. We are Ordained as Ambassadors of Christ
• Every believer is called to the ministry of reconciliation.- 2Cor. 5:18-20
• This is why soul winning is every believer’s ministry – Jn 15:16
• We are called as co-labourers with God in the harvest field of the world-1Cor.3:8-9/ John4:35-36
• God is glorified when we bear much fruit - Jn 15:8/Pro 14:28/ 1Sam 2:30
• But we must engage in prayers and intercession to be empowered for effectiveness in soul winning – Ps 2:8/ Ezek 36:37/ Lk 11:21-22
• We must labour fruitfully to maximise the blessedness of soul winning, which among others include;
- Divine health – Pro 13:17 - Divine Protection- Lk 10:17-19
- Supernatural Breakthroughs-Pro11:30/Pro 3:35/Dan 12:3 - Divine supplies – Matt 6:33/Lk 22:35 - Fulfilment of destiny –Ex 23:25-26/Job 36:11 etc, etc.
2. We are Ordained to be Holy (2Tim.2:19-22; 4:7,8)
• Holiness is all about manifesting God’s nature in our daily walk- Matt.5:48,1Pet.1:15
• Holiness is fundamental to our walk with God - Gen.6:9; 17:1,2; II Tim.2:19-22
• It is a requirement for fulfilment of destiny in the Kingdom–2Tim.2:20-22;Is.52:11; Ps.4:3
• Holiness enhances our access to revelation and divine guidance -Ps.25.14; Mk.4:11 (Rev.22:15)
• It is also a platform for spiritual empowerment – Prov.1:23; Lk 5:38-39/Ps 45:7-8
• We must engage the following among others to live a sanctified life:
- A Word-filled life – Jn 17:17/ Ps 119:9-11
- A Prayerful life – Matt 6:9-13/ Matt 26:41
- A Spirit-filled life – 1Cor 6:9-11/ Rom 8:13
- Keeping a right association- 1Cor 13:33/ Ps 1:1-3. The company/association you keep determines what follows you and flows from you.
We must believe God to see his hand manifest in our lives. We must believe the testimonies of saints as the acts of God so as to experience the same in our lives 2corinthians 6:2. Never walk with negative people full of criticism and comparison but men who believe God and what He can do or is doing in the lives of other brethren in the world. Every scripture and testimony is a proof of how God relates with us, Proverbs 3:27-28. Are you discouraged, defeated, rejected God has a solution for you. All you need are two simple steps and your life will open up.
You need to give your life to Jesus to experience HIS acts. It’s through Him that we are entitled to a new experience in life. To do that all you need is to say this prayer out from the depth of your heart, say… Lord Jesus I come to you today, I know that I am a sinner and I cannot save myself Lord Jesus thank you for dying for me on the cross. Thank you for paying the price for my sins. I believe you resurrected from the dead and now sit at the right hand of God the Father. I ask you to forgive me all my sins. I invite you into my life as my Lord and Savior from today. I surrender my life to you. Thank you for saving me.
Now believe Jesus is living in your heart. You are forgiven and made righteous. Join a bible believing and teaching church to grow in salvation.
