Mixed martial arts - Renowned coach Morné Swanepoel to run seminar here |07 January 2015

Mixed martial arts athletes and enthusiasts are invited to attend a seminar by world renowned coach Morné Swanepoel from South Africa.

The seminar, which will take place later this month, is the first organised by the Seychelles Mixed Martial Arts Association (MMAS).

The sessions will take place on Thursday January 15 and Saturday January 17 at the Omnisports Gym, Roche Caïman. The Thursday session will be from 6pm to 7.30pm, while the Saturday one will be from 2pm to 5pm.

Those who wish to take part will have to pay fees of R50 for the 90-minute session on Thursday and R100 for the three-hour session on Saturday.

He is actively involved in various projects fighting crime in South Africa, training security personal, specialised police and military units and civilians in personal protection and athletes in the dynamic sport of mixed martial arts (cage fighting)

He has trained with and researched various mixed martial arts professionals like Burton Richardson, Baret Yoshida, Marcello Garcia, Randy Couture, Frank Shamrock, Matt Thornton, Leo Vieira, Rickson Gracie, Felipe Costa, Chris Haueter to name a few.
