Students of the Tae Kwon Do Association of Seychelles (Tas) are benefiting from the expertise of a four-member delegation from the Tae Kwon Do Peace Corps from South Korea.
On Wednesday evening, a group of karatekas were treated to a training session held by the delegation at the Grand Anse Mahé community centre.
The delegation comprises Eun Hyo Kim (19 years old, 4th dan black belt), Hyo Ryeol Park (19, 4th dan black belt), Sun Young Im (21, 3rd dan black belt) and Ju Young Oh (20, 3rd dan black belt.
In Wednesday’s training session, the Koreans imparted to the local school members some new training tips including choreographed training with music and Tas president Danny Emmanuel said it is something they had never done before.
“The Tae Kwon Peace Corps are dispatched in various countries every year, where they assess and help promote the discipline in these countries, and this is why they are here this year,” said Mr Emmanuel.
He added that it is always good to have more experienced people coming in and teaching them new things and this also helps the young students who benefit a lot from these experiences.
The delegation arrived in Seychelles on January 5 and will spend one month doing various activities, which include intensive training sessions along with recreational and cultural exchanges throughout the country.
