Seychelles’ AfDB representative on consultation mission |24 June 2015

Seychelles’ representative at the African Development Bank (AfDB), Dr Mulu Ketsela, yesterday called on President James Michel at State House to brief him on what the bank has done and is doing for Seychelles so far and how best to promote the country’s interest there.

Dr Ketsela represents Seychelles in the East African Constituency at the AfDB which also consists of Eritrea, Ethiopia, Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania and Uganda.

Talking on her mission here, Dr Ketsela said she was undertaking her consultation missions towards the Seychellois head of state. She said this was her third visit to our beautiful country.

“I have briefed him on what I have done since my arrival yesterday (Monday) where I had a fruitful discussion with the Minister for Finance, Trade and the Blue Economy and the governor of the Central Bank. I spoke to the President about the issues that we’ve discussed and how we can really promote the interests of Seychelles in the board during our discussions at the African Development Bank,” said Dr Ketsela.

Dr Ketsela said she has learned a great deal since her arrival here especially on the concept of the Blue economy among other issues.
During her official mission to Seychelles until June 26, Dr Ketsela will also meet Wallace Cosgrow, Minister for Fisheries and Agriculture and Didier Dogley, Minister for Environment, Energy and Climate Change.
