EUCAP Nestor donates to police force |14 July 2015

The EUCAP Nestor has donated several pieces of equipment aimed at boosting the Seychelles Police Force’s capacity in detecting crime.

It was the Commissioner of Police Ernest Quatre who accepted the donation from EUCAP Nestor head of mission, Etienne de Poncins, in the presence of high ranking officers of the Seychelles Police Force, international dignitaries and EUCAP Nestor’s staff.

The equipment include cameras, finger identification gear, laboratory as well as many forensic types of equipment that will benefit the crime division unit.

“I would like to thank the EUCAP Nestor for the show of support and I would like to take this opportunity to give you the assurance that with your help Seychelles will stay committed to fighting crimes,” Commissioner Quatre said.

Mr de Poncins, whose mandate coming to an end in July, said the EUCAP Nestor is very satisfied with the collaboration it has had over the past year with Seychelles.

“We are pleased to have been supportive of Seychelles in the fight against crime and piracy in the past two years. We have a very strong team in Victoria that is truly dedicated to bringing better services to the police force,” he said.

He also took time to talk about his two-year mandate that will come to an end in July.

“I am pleased with what I have achieved since my mandate started two years ago. I am leaving my position with the sense of accomplished duty that my team and I brought to the Seychelles Police Force, the Seychelles Coast Guard and the Air Force,” Mr de Poncins said.
