Ninth Indian Ocean Island Games - Seven gold medals for Seychelles on Day 4 |06 August 2015

The medals had been hard coming for Seychelles after four days of competition at the ninth Indian Ocean Island Games in Reunion, and Sports Minister Vincent Meriton had told the media yesterday morning that he was not happy with the count.
It is as if what he had said had been relayed to Reunion as the Seychellois female athletes captured seven gold medals.
Female lifters Ruby Malvina and Clementina Agricole won three gold medals apiece, while swimmer Alexus Laird won the women’s 50m backstroke in a Seychelles and Games record time of 29.48 seconds at the Piscine du Chaudron.
Seychelles also won one silver and six bronze medals yesterday, bringing the country’s total to 31 – 8 gold, 9 silver and 14 bronze.
