Football - Jean-Louis names national selection |22 September 2015

Newly appointed national team head coach Ralph Jean-Louis has named his first selection of players as the team prepare to face Burundi in a World Cup qualifier next month.

Twenty-six players have been called to prepare for the 2018 World Cup qualifying preliminary round first leg match that will take place here on October 7 against Burundi.

Speaking to Sports Nation, Jean-Louis said the players are yet to meet as it is difficult right now with the number of matches being played, but he has said training will begin as soon as possible.

He did mention though that he is not too concerned with the fitness and match practice side of things as most players are currently involved in league matches and thus should be fully match fit.

The selection boats two players who play second division football and they are strikers Che Dorasamy of Plaisance and St John Bosco’s Randolph Elizabeth.

The most notable absentees are St Michel’s Gervais Waye-Hive and La Passe’s Senky Vidot.

The following are the players called to the selection:

Goalkeepers: Vincent Euphrasie (La Passe), Kitson Cecile (Côte d’Or), Jerome Dingwall (The Lions) and Gino Melanie (St Michel)

Defenders: Yannick Manoo, Gino Agathine, Allen Larue, Alex Nibourette (St Michel), Benoit Marie, Jones Joubert (Côte d’Or), Jean-Paul Adela (La Passe) and Jude Nancy (The Lions)

Midfielders: Nelson Laurence, Trevor Vidot, Karl Hall, Leroy Corallie (St Michel), Collin Esther, Archille Henriette (La Passe), Basil Bertin (Northern Dynamo), Martin William (Foresters) and Roddy Melanie (St Louis)

Strikers: Che Dorasamy (Plaisance), Dean Suzette (Côte d’Or), Rennick Esther (La Passe), Elijah Tamboo (St Louis) and Randolph Elizabeth (St John Bosco).
