Top Line-Up of Bollywood stars For the Seychelles-India Day |01 October 2015
The third edition of Seychelles-India Day (SID) has taken Seychelles by storm. The growing list of Bollywood Stars confirming their presence in Seychelles from September 29th is transforming this coming SID celebration into a powerful cultural event.
The SID Committee spearheading the event has put together a strong working day and night to raise the profile of the third edition and to bring it to the highest level of success possible.
The SID has become what the Seychelles Ministry of Tourism and Culture has not only used the SID to showcase modern India and its culture, but also to mark a long list of famous celebrities that are coming to perform In Seychelles from Bollywood.
The top stars who will grace the soul of Seychelles and will perform in the third edition of SID are:
Haricharan Seshadri, simply known and credited as Haricharan, is a Carnatic musician and an Indian plyback singer. His song ‘ Unakkena Iruppen’ was nominated for the National Film Awards in 2005 which became widely popular.
Nakash Aziz is an Indian playback singer and music composer. He has assisted the legendary composer A.R. Rahman on films like highway, Rannjhanaa, Rockstar, Delhi 6. He worked as a music composer for TV serials before becoming a playback singer.
Balabhaskar is an Indian violinist, composer and record producer. He is best known for promoting fusion music in South India. Balabhaskar has performed with many noted musicians and instrumentalists in India and abroad, including Ustad zakhir Hussain, Sivamani, Stephen Devassy, Louis Banks, and so on.
Andrea Jeremiah is an Indian actress, playback singer, musician and dancer. She works mainly in Tamil, Malayalam, Hindi and Telugu film industry. Beginning her career signing playback, Andrea has gone on to appear in films, mostly in the Tamil language.
Shakthisree Gopalan is an Indian vocalist, song writer and performer in both Indian contemporary, pop and soft rock genres. She is a led vocalist for the freestyle band group called Off the Record. Having won the ‘SS Music Voice Hunt’ in the year 2008, Gopalan debuted into film playback in the same year.
Prakriti Kakar & Sukriti Kakar are Indian playback singers. Born in New Delhi, they carer began upon signing the title song of 2012 Bollywood film Tutiya Dil. Subsequently they performed few tracks for films released in 2013. The rose to widespread prominence with the release of her songs in colloaboration with Ankit Tiwari, ‘katra Katra’ from alone and ‘Bheegh loon’ from khamoshiyan.
Vinshnupriya Ravi has done her share of session singning for tamil film music, jingles, corporate theme songs. She has the distinct vocal style of a soul singer able to stir emotion in every note.
Siddharth Nagarajan is the youngest drummer from India. His debut public show was on april 16th 2000, when he was barely 2, 5 years old which earned a place in the limca book of Records as the youngest drummer of India.
Bennet & the Band, who hails from a family of Western Classical Musicians, is a virtuoso Guitarist/ Music director and also a seasoned performer with abundant experience of 15 years. In this span of time he has travelled through different genres of music and collaborations like the successful rock band ‘Dreadlocks’. His band, Bennet & The band consist of talented musicians with a great line-up by keyboards, flute, saxophone, eastern & western percussion, drums, base guitar and himself on lead guitar.
Mazhar Ahmed Aka DJ MAZZR is a well known DJ whole over the world. Ever since he stepp
ed into the muic industry his role and contribution as a DJ was a fruitful experience, some of his highest performances includes shows at various cities from India, Bombay, Cochin and many more.
A.R. Rahman is an Indian composer, singer-songwriter, music producer, multi-instrumental and philanthropist. Described as the worlds most prominent and prolific film composer by time, his works are notable for integrating Eastern classical music with electronic music sounds, world music genres and traditional orchestral arrangements. He was two Academy Awards, two Grammy awards, a BAFTA Awards, a Golden Globe, Four National Film Award, and many more.
In 1999, Rahman partnered with choreographers Shobana and prabhu Deva and a tamil film-dancing troupe to perform with Michael Jackson in Munich, Germany at his Micheal Jackson and Friends concert. ‘Jai Ho’ is a song composed by Rahman for the 2008 film, Slumdog Millionaire.
The committee have said that the glitz and glamour that these Bollywood stars will give to the third edition of SID celebrations shows that the event is getting a lot of recognition as well as internationally and locally.
This year’s SID celebrations, to be held from October 2-4, will fall within the month-long ‘India Fest’.
The entire artist will perform live on October 3rd at a Musical Gala Night at the Stad popiler at 7 PM.
