Mission accomplished for Danish warship Absalon |05 November 2015

On a recent visit here, the support vessel HDMS Absalon of the Royal Danish Navy has donated six pallets of toys, clothes, blankets, and soft toys to the Seychelles Children’s Foundation (SCF).

The donation was initiated by one of the crew members of Absalon and all the clothes were collected by the crew of the warship in their home country Denmark.

It was their second time in Seychelles and they wanted to do something special for the children of Seychelles.

Bardur Sanda, the Lieutenant Commander of Absalon, said “this has been a most positive initiative, supported by our loved ones at home. We are very happy to see it come to good use.

“This is something which will definitely leave our crew with a smile on their faces for the remainder of our mission.”

The project and communication manager of the SCF Wavel Woodcock welcomed the donation and said the toys and clothes have been well received by the  foundation and the items will be delivered to all the children’s homes and to children in need on Mahé.

He added that such initiative communicates to children that they are loved and it

enables the foundation to safeguard the interest of the children of Seychelles.
