Miss World 2015 - Linne Freminot ranked second in Miss World sports challenge |11 December 2015

All eyes are on Seychellois beauty queen Linne Freminot to see if she will feature among the best and make a strong challenge for the Miss World crown after faring well in the Miss World sports challenge.
Miss Seychelles ...Another World 2015 Linne Freminot was ranked second in the Miss World sports challenge which took place on December 8 at the Sanya University Sports track in the Sanyi island in Hainan, China.
One of the 24 finalists for the Miss World sports challenge, Linne, 22, now features quite well on the Miss World leader board.
Speaking to Seychelles NATION, Linne said: “I am really happy. I’m proud I did it for my country Seychelles and I thank all those who supported me to what I have achieved so far. I’m aiming to get a higher ranking among the top 15 finalists.”
At the start of the contest all the contestants competed against each other in a straight forward challenge of physicality, strength and stamina – a gruelling bleep test. The girls were divided into four groups – yellow, blue, orange and red – and the top six finishers in each group automatically advanced to the sports fast track final for the individual events where they competed in a series of even more gruelling physical fitness exercises, which included individual and team shuttle runs, long jump, 100m sprint, 4x100m relay, tug of war and more.
Miss Namibia Steffi van Wyk was the winner of the Miss World sports challenge event after beating the other finalists in the categories of shuttle runs, long jump and 100m sprint.
The 24-year-old was always considered the number one favourite for the sports challenge event due to her achievement as the 100m hurdle national record holder in her country.
Steffi van Wyk had this to say after her victory: “I am so proud to have won this, not just for me, but for my country. I can’t thank all the other contestants enough for the support they have given me. This award is for all of us because the biggest accomplishment of today was how well we worked as a team!”
In third place was Aria Perez Theisen of Guam, fourth was Regina Vandysheva of Kazakhstan and fifth was Alofa Latafale AuvaA of Samoa.
The ‘Miss World Sports’ or ‘Sportswoman’ is a title and award given to the winner of a sports event at Miss World. It is a fast track or preliminary event, and the winner automatically makes it to the semifinals.
The contestants compete in five challenge events in the run-up to the final. Those are the beauty with a purpose (where they present their project), multimedia, sports and fitness, talent, and top model.
The crowning event for the pageant which has been running since the beginning of the month is next week – December 19. The pageant is taking place in Sanya, Hainan, China.
