Bernard Camille to officiate at Chan |06 January 2016
Seychellois football referee Bernard Camille has been selected to officiate at the fourth Orange African Nations Championship (Chan) in Rwanda from January 16 to February 7.
Camille, 40, was informed that he would be officiating in the championship by fellow Seychellois Eddie Maillet, a former international and now the refereeing manager with the Confederation of African Football (Caf). That was during an elite course for referees in Egypt in November last year.
This will be his second appearance at the Chan after his debut in 2011 in Sudan.
Chan features the best national teams in Africa with players active in their country’s national league only.
The 16 teams who have qualified are Morocco, Tunisia, Guinea, Mali, Ivory Coast, Niger, Nigeria, Cameroon, DR Congo, Gabon, Ethiopia, Rwanda, Uganda, Angola, Zambia and Zimbabwe.
They have all been drawn into four groups of four and the top two of each pool will progress to the quarterfinals.
