Hotels’ Christmas treats for children |08 January 2016
During the last festive season many hotels decided to open their doors to children, especially less fortunate ones, so that they could have a fun-filled Christmas. Seychelles NATION already carried a story about kids from the President’s Village who were hosted to a Christmas afternoon of fun at the Maia Resort. Similar fun activities were also organised at places such as Lemuria Resort on Praslin and The H Resort at Beau Vallon.
For example, Lemuria Resort welcomed a group of young children described as “less fortunate” from the Grande Anse Praslin public school on Christmas day.
The highlight of the day there was when the helicopter Zil Air landed on the resort’s golf course with Santa who interacted with the children and gave out gifts. The kids also had the chance to visit the cabin of the helicopter.
At The H Resort, some 300 invited guests, half of whom children, were invited to meet Santa who, along with his four elves, were serenaded upon arrival in his magical sleigh with carols by a local Seychellois choral group, ‘Christmas Harmonies’. The highlight of the moment was when Santa ‘magically’ lighted the impressive 8-metre tall Christmas tree in the hotel’s lobby.
For good measure during the festive period, Santa was also spotted having a whale of a time on sunny Beau Vallon beach, taking a welcome break away from his cold and wintry native land!
In our centre pages of today’s issue, we present you some pictures of the Christmas activities at the Lemuria Resort and The H Resort, as well as Santa letting his hair down on Beau Vallon beach among the locals.
