Vocational courses and inaugural Alumni event

The ISS (International School Seychelles) Inclusion Department will organise two vocational courses next week. The first one is about Barista certification and the second is concerned with a media course. The inaugural Alumni event on June 15, 2016 will be the great moment.

Certified Barista Course

In partnership with Chatterbox Coffee Shop on Eden and delivered by the OKOA Coffee Company, the ISS is running a three-day certified Barista Course for eight of its students and two students from Plaisance secondary school. This certified training will increase their chances for employment in the Seychelles tourism and restaurant sectors. The session will take place between June 13-15.  On June 16, customers could experience the newly trained teenagers’ skill, since Chatterbox will be especially opened to the public.

Certified Media Course

For this course, the eight ISS students will be certified at the end of five days of intense training. Partially sponsored by Maven, a digital communication business, the session will be running in partnership with School TV Company. The course will take place between June 13-17. On Friday, the ISS will air the premiere of the TV show for parents and sponsors.

Inaugural Alumni event

It will be the first Alumni event for former students and teachers. It will take place at Rockpool Bar and Seafood at Glacis from 7-10pm on Wednesday June 15.

The ISS wants to thank Chatterbox, Air Seychelles, Diamond Works, Mason’s, Skychef, Hibiscus, Takamaka- La Plaine Saint-André, Hilton and Maven for their particular contribution to those projects and all the local business contributors.
