Basketball - André leaves Dawgz for Heat |22 August 2016

Steven André joining Beau Vallon Heat from Mont Fleuri Dawgz is perhaps the most high profile move in the national basketball league’s transfer season which closed on Friday.

Part of the Seychelles national team and a key member of the Dawgz side who won the 2015 league title, André will now join up with fellow national team star Timmy Adam and coach Guy Hall on the northern coast as the team continue their quest for the league title.

André was not the only new signing for the Heat who also welcomed back former player Beejay Bertin from Premium Cobras Youth.

Mont Fleuri Dawgz also lost Nigel Cafrine who has joined former champions PLS Hawks.

Despite the loss of two players, the Dawgz have not made any signing in this transfer window.

In other transfers from across the leagues, MBU Rockers have signed Karim César from MBU Boys, while Premium Cobras improved their squad with the arrival of four new players. They have added Razors’ Yannick Ally and Stefan Romain, RC Dynamic’s Serge Radegonde and MBU Boys’ Eddy Olivia to their squad.

Some men’s second division sides have also signed new recruits. Mont Fleuri Ballers have added Espoir’s Jonathan Denousse to their team. AB Boys have brought in David Boniface from Drifters, Premium Cobras Youth got Yannick Jean-Louis from Anse Etoile and leaders Beau Vallon Bucanneers, who are still hunting for promotion, have added Premium Cobras’ Francis Herminie to their side.

There has been no movement in the women’s league.
