Paralympic Games - Charles carries Seychelles flag at opening ceremony |09 September 2016

Cyril Charles, Seychelles’ sole competitor at the 2016 Paralympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, will compete on Monday September 12.

Charles will take part in the javelin throw.

He is the first Seychellois athlete to compete at the Paralympic Games since 1992, and along with Elvis Victor are the first and only athletes to ever represent Seychelles at the games.

At this year’s games, Charles is being accompanied by coach Vincent Cedras and classifier Dr Lucia Banane.

He carried the country’s flag at the opening ceremony on Wednesday night inside the Maracana Stadium.

The 2016 Paralympic Games are being held from September 7-18.
