Nouvobanq discontinues instant money transfer |13 September 2016

As from September 17, 2016 Nouvobanq will discontinue its money transfer service through Western Union.

Many locals and expatriates alike had been using this service to transfer small cash amounts instantly to their families overseas.

A communiqué from Nouvobanq said normal swift transfer is still available for its customers.

Despite Seychelles NATION’s best effort to find out the reason behind this abrupt halt of the instant money transfer at Nouvobanq we have not yet been able to.

There are however countless ways to not make your beloved family members wait for their cash through other instant cash transfer services in Seychelles.

Double Click currently offers Ria money transfer which is a subsidiary of Euronet Worldwide, Inc, which specialises in money remittances.

This service is available at all their branches on Mahé and Praslin except the Double Click Café.

Double Click also offers Western Union but according to its chief executive and managing director Muditha Gunatilake they are facing technical difficulties with the system.

“There are technical issues at the moment as we are undertaking a change of platform but we expect everything to be back up in two to three weeks,” he said.

Cash Plus, which has nine branches in Seychelles, offers four different instant money transfer services and they are Xpress Money, Instant Cash, Money Gram and Sigue money transfer.

Cash Plus operations manager B. Sharaph Kumar said these services are offered in at least one branch on each island – Mahé, Praslin and La Digue.

“We are proud that our four services allow our customers to send their money to any country in the world,” he said.

Vision Money Transfer also offers Instant Cash and GCC Remit which is a global money transfer company that allows secure instant cash transfer services.
