East Indies company hosts special event for orphans |23 December 2016
Over 72 orphans living in different orphanages were treated to a sumptuous lunch yesterday afternoon hosted by the East Indies company in collaboration with GMA Stationery Shop.
The lunch was held at the Palm Residency at Pointe Conan.
The children, who every year await this occasion, had a wonderful time, with many activities on the programme such as bouncing castle, musical chair. They could also enjoy themselves in the swimming pool at the Palm Residency.
The brand manager at East Indies, Michael Saldanha, stated that Christmas is a time to give back to the community.
“Christmas is a time to spend with our loved ones, and the orphans have their own little family with whom they live together in the orphanages. As a corporate company, it is good to give back to the community,” he said.
During the event, the children were presented with ‘back to school’ gifts sponsored by GMA Stationery Shop.
The Metis band was also present to put the children into that Christmas spirit.
A Seychelles-owned company, East Indies together with its international partners from South Africa and Mauritius has over 80 years experience in the wine and spirits industry in operations throughout the Indian Ocean and Africa.
