Committee on action to honour late President James Mancham |02 February 2017

Members share thoughts in first meeting

The committee set up by President Danny Faure to consider and propose to him actions that could be undertaken to honour the memory of the late President James Mancham, met for the first time on Monday.

Members shared their thoughts on honouring the former Seychelles President in ways that would also contribute to promoting national unity.

They also reviewed proposals received so far from members of the public.

The committee expects to present its recommendations to President Faure in March.

The committee thanked members of the public who had  already sent proposals for consideration, and invited others who still wish to do so to send their ideas to the chairperson, Ambassador Bernard Shamlaye, at the Department of Foreign Affairs, Mont Fleuri, or by email to proposalsey@gmail.com, by Wednesday February 15.

The other members of the Committee are Simone de Comarmond, Dr Odile de Comarmond, Laura Valabhji, Paul Chow, Julien Durup, Dolor Ernesta, Bernard Georges and Tony Mathiot.
