Judo - Etoile Judo Club wins interclub tournament |06 April 2017

Young Judokas from various clubs across the country gathered at the Roche Caiman Dojo last weekend, where they competed in an interclub Judo tournament organised by the eventual winners, Etoile Judo Club.

The tournament saw athletes from six clubs from Mahé and Praslin compete for honours, with Etoile Judo Club’s athletes claiming 13 gold medals between them to finish atop the medal rankings.

In all, Etoile Judo Club won 13 gold, four silver and one bronze medal to finish ahead of Alpha Judo Club who won six gold, a silver and one bronze medal, while Elite Judo Club was third with five gold, eight silver and two bronze medals.

The tournament, which was reserved for the younger generation of Judokas, also saw the best athletes on the day in the various categories rewarded and here Aurelia Yat-Kwan of Elite Judo Club won the best Poussin Female judoka award, while for the male of the same age group, the winner was Moullien Judo Club’s Dyland Bonnelame.

In the Benjamin age group, Sonia Marie of Elite Judo Club was the best female and Etoile Judo Club’s Denio Crea was the best for the male.

There was to be no best female in the minimes age group due to a lack of participants, but for the male, Eusebio Ravignia of Etoile Judo Club was the winner.
