Football: Chan 2018 qualifiers Seychelles take on Mauritius tomorrow |21 April 2017

The Seychelles national side will take on neighbours and rivals Mauritius tomorrow in qualifying match for the 2018 African Nations Championship (Chan) and are hard at work in preparation for the match.

The team travelled to Mauritius on Tuesday and the chief executive of the Seychelles Football Federation (SFF) Georges Bibi, has informed Sports NATION that the team are well settled and are training well ahead of the tie.

Nigel Freminot was originally destined to take charge of the team, but it will Joel Decommarmond who will now act as head coach to the side after Freminot pulled out due to regulatory issues.

Decommarmond will have a tough task tomorrow as his vastly inexperienced side will be looking to produce a good performance to put themselves in the best possible position for the return match next week.

Mauritius will also be coming all out as they look to bounce back from their shock defeat against the Comoros in the Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) qualifying matches and a win over Seychelles will surely be a welcome boost for them.

Seychelles, on the other hand, have not tasted victory since their 2-0 triumph against Lesotho in an Afcon qualifying group match last year and will be looking to come back with at least an away goal at the Stade George V to boost their qualifying chances.

The game is expected to kick off at 7pm local time.
