Letter to the Editor - Easter 2017 – ‘The signs from heaven’ |29 April 2017
Saturday April 15 – Holy Saturday – at around 1pm, there erupted signs from Heaven with tremendous thunder and lightning which struck the ‘New Seychelles’ sky.
The commentator on SBC Radio at that time described the blasting of the continuous ‘thunder & lightning’ as – the war of the skies!Yet I sighed…
But hitherto, how many of us could attest to the fact that those continuous ‘thunder & lightning’ were actually – signs from GOD above? Genesis 1:14
How many of us took time to look at the sky and grasped the understandings of the ‘signs from Heaven’ and look at our inner self, a day before the most sacred feast of Easter?
It is true that Jesus, the only begotten Son, was crucified on the Cross in ultimate redemption for our sins, but we must also take into account that HIS resurrection gave true hope to HIS believers for Eternal Life in HIM, through HIM and with HIM.
Well, I would say that our faith does not rest on any human being, here on Earth. The WAY, THE TRUTH & THE LIFE was nailed on the Cross, anointed and put in the tomb, and HE then ‘rose’ from the dead – three days after. That should have been our first line of focus for this Easter.
The second line of focus was to look at the Spiritual Easter message, which was depicted from the ‘signs from Heaven’, which is an appropriate reflection and thing to prophesy upon this time of the year; as a sign for us of what GOD can do. I sincerely believe the message sent forth by the Almighty for this Easter is that: ‘Life is stronger than death, Love is stronger than hatred and Hope is stronger than despair’.
In this cohabitation period and in line with my advocacy for National Unity, I call on all our citizens for a change of hearts, a change of mindset in total forgiveness for National Unification in a binding National Reconciliation for National Love.
Let us put our words to the test and let us all live by our actions, let us preach what we say, (walk the talk so to speak) and continue to nurture hope for our people, especially our youth – towards a common destiny…
Let the Love, Peace and Harmony of our people envelope our differences and opinions and bind us in ultimate love from our Creator, as one people towards a common providence, as in;
One Seychelles – One Nation – One Love – One Destiny!
The LORD, our GOD will continue to bless Seychelles regardless of our spiritual denominations and political affiliations, as we take this cohabitation journey towards the betterment of our small island state – Seychelles. Peace be with all my brothers and sisters in Christ;
Extract of Numbers 6:24-26:
“‘The LORD blesses you and keeps you; 25 the LORD makes His face shine on you and be gracious to you; 26 the LORD turns His face toward you and give you peace.”’
“For GOD so loved the world,
That HE gave His only Son, that whoever believes in HIM shall not perish, but have Eternal Life”(John 3:16).
