Charles de Commarmond elected Leader of Government Business
Charles de Commarmond was elected Leader of Government Business at yesterday’s sitting of the National Assembly.
The election saw the participation of only Parti Lepep members in the National Assembly, as it is that party of the government in power.
The election, which was first presented as a motion and voted upon, came about after the National Assembly itself recently voted for an amendment in the Constitution of Seychelles under the National Assembly Members Emolument Act, where that post became a Constitutional Appointee.
Mr de Commarmond was proposed by Parti Lepep member Sebastien Pillay, seconded by Basil Hoareau. All Parti Lepep members present that day voted in favour.
