17th Fina World Swimming Championships in Budapest, Hungary |24 July 2017

Seychelles sends four representatives

 

Seychelles is being represented by four swimmers at the 17th Fédération internationale de natation (Fina) World Swimming Championships in Budapest, Hungary.

The swimmers ‒ Felicity Passon, Alexus Laird, Adam Moncherry and Dean Hoffman ‒ are already in Budapest ready to swim alongside the world’s best in the events that started yesterday. The swimming events will end on Sunday July 31.

Accompanied by her coach Steven Collins, England-based Passon will swim the 50m backstroke (PB of 29.30 seconds) and 100m freestyle (PB of 56.90 seconds).

As for Sportswoman of the Year Laird, she will take the start of two races ‒ 50m freestyle (PB of 26.65 seconds) and 100m backstroke (PB of 1 minute 03.33 seconds).

Moncherry of the Mahe Skimmers club will swim the 50m freestyle (PB of 24.57 seconds) and 50m butterfly (PB of 26.18 seconds).

Toto club member Hoffman will swim the 100m freestyle (PB of 54.88 seconds) and 200m freestyle (PB of 2 minute 05.25 seconds).

The four swimmers will also join forces to swim the 4x100m mixed freestyle relay and the 4x100m mixed medley relay.

French coach Guillaume Bachman is also accompanying the swimmers while Seychelles Swimming Association chairman David Vidot is attending the Fina general congress also in Budapest.
