Seychelles-India Day 2017 Photography competition launched |02 September 2017
The Indian Association of Seychelles has launched its 4th photography competition which begins today and will continue until October 2, 2017.
This is the first activity for this year’s Seychelles-India Day (SID) event which will take place from October 6-8, 2017.
Details of other proposed activities will be communicated in due course.
The vision of the Seychelles-India Day 2017 organising committee is to get the people to capture the beauty of ‘Paradise Seychelles’ and ‘Incredible India’.
The theme for this year’s competition remains the same as that for the three preceding years, which is ‘Incredible India in Paradise’.
“We believe in the continuity and brand building of all activities of Seychelles-India Day. A lot of input has been received from everyone involved including participants during previous years and we have tried to incorporate same,” a spokesperson for the organising committee said.
Just like the Festival Kreol and the Carnaval International de Victoria have been following the same theme /concept over the years, this helps in the continuity of these events.
“This strategy is helping boost the popularity of Seychelles-India Day every year. Our main aim now is to portray the beauty of India and Seychelles showcasing people, food, music, dance, sports and culture. This will help to promote the bilateral relations between the two countries,” the spokesperson said.
The competition is open to professional and amateur photographers and there are no age, sex or religious barriers to participation.
The organisers are making a special appeal to children/students and the young population in general who will be budding photographers of tomorrow to come forward and participate in this event.
“Without their support we will not be able to make an impact,” the spokesperson said.
