To mark their one-year existence in Seychelles, Baker Tilly organised a cocktail at the Savoy Hotel on Friday afternoon.
Present to commemorate such milestone were the Minister for Habitat, Infrastructure and Land Transport Charles Bastienne, the chief executive (CEO) and President of Baker Tilly International Ted Verkade, the chairman and managing partner, Middle East and Africa Mago JB Singh, country head and managing partner for Seychelles Rajesh Mathur, the British high commissioner Caron Röhsler, among other distinguished guests and clients of the firm.
Speaking to the media Mr Mathur stated that the firm’s main purpose is to provide a much better quality of service to Seychelles.
“Baker Tilly International is very happy with their presence in Seychelles. At a recently held regional conference in Croatia, we met our associates and partners from various offices all over the world and each member we met was happy to note that Baker Tilly has gain a good reputation in Seychelles. We also managed to put up high the flag of Seychelles,” he said.
He added that Baker Tilly International has provided a boost to enable to serve its clients in Seychelles.
“We will be completing one year since we associated ourselves with Baker Tilly International, we have taken the right step to join the Baker Tilly International network last year. In this one year we have earned the confidence of our clients as we are able to provide premier accounting, assurance, tax and specialist business advice, drawing on internationally recognised industry and service line experts as in other developed countries. The association has not only positively benefited our clients and members of our staff but the Republic of Seychelles. During the last five years Mr Verkade has taken a leading role in setting the strategic direction of the network and the alignment of member firms globally.
“Seychelles is a good position to do business; we started looking at Seychelles a little about one year ago with the highest Gross Domestic Product (GDP), it is a sophisticated country with remarkable development since the last years. The country has been effectively well managed; other countries in Africa should take Seychelles as an example to manage their economic growth,” he said.
He continued by stating that the firm has grown over the past 30 years.
