Marie-Louise prison to close |16 September 2017

President Danny Faure has confirmed that the prison facilities on Marie-Louise island will close on September 30, 2017

This is in line with the commitment given in his State-of-the-Nation address on February 14, 2017.

The three prisoners who are currently detained there will be transferred to Coetivy.

The island of Marie-Louise will remain leased to the Islands Development Company and its facilities will be used by the Seychelles People's Defence Forces for the training of recruits.
