Dean Rose wins SNYA logo contest |08 November 2017

Dean Rose is the winner of the Seychelles National Youth Assembly (SNYA) logo competition launched earlier this year.

He was rewarded during the sixth sitting of the 14th SNYA held last Saturday at the National House.

During this sitting, members approved two motions.

Mr Rose’s logo is based on the purpose of the SNYA and the design depicts the five colours of the National Flag of Seychelles with the slogan ‘One Youth, One Nation, One Future’, which means that our youth is our future.

The logo will provide SNYA with a symbol to represent it.

Present at the sitting were the 17 SNYA members who represent their respective districts and educational institutions, as well as past SNYA members who were there as observers.

The first motion tabled by Shamira Basset  and seconded by Wahida Gobin proposed that the government and other department responsible should have a much better strategic plan where alcohol should be sold in certain shops, which will allow to tackle underage drinking, and prevent shops selling alcohol to underage children.

The second motion tabled by Joseph Bonne and seconded by Annissa Dick, stated that the youth assembly is proposing to the government of Seychelles to consider a budget to help the SNYA to take part in the international conference ‘Youth Parliamentarian Conference’, which will allow them to gain more knowledge, and become advocates for Seychelles.

The next sitting of the youth assembly is on November 25, 2017.
