Cable Tunes Awards 2017 Nominees announced |01 December 2017
Nominees for the 8th Cable Tunes Awards have been announced.
In a short ceremony held recently at the Boardwalk Bar and Grill, the organisers of the event, Cable & Wireless (CWS), announced the eight awards that will be handed out during the show to be held on January 6, 2018 at the Berjaya Beau Vallon Bay Resort & Casino.
CWS customers can vote for their favourite artist by sending an SMS with the corresponding number to 9688. Only artists who have songs on the Cable Tunes platform are eligible for nominations.
During the ceremony CWS chief executive (CEO) Charles Hammond unveiled the trophy for the awards.
He also took the opportunity to thank all artists who have been loyal to CWS.
“I want to thank everyone who supported Cable Tunes and who helped us arrive to this point… We shall be having (a great) show,” he said.
The National Arts Council CEO Jimmy Savy urged local artists to keep working hard for them to be properly rewarded.
“It’s important for awards to be held and I am happy that CWS has remained consistent with theirs where they reward, recognise and appreciate especially young artists who work very hard to bring good music to the society,” he said.
Also during the ceremony there were performances by Benting, Kelly and Elijah.
