Seychellois arrested after drug bust at OR Tambo airport |22 February 2018

A Seychellois man was arrested after a drug bust at the OR Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg, South African police said on Sunday.

According to the News24, the man was about to board a flight to Mahé island last Wednesday when he was arrested.

South African police spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Katlego Mogale said: “The security officer was conducting routine body searches of passengers. While searching this particular passenger, the officer felt an unusual hardness on the passenger's thighs,” said Lt Col. Mogale.

“The passenger was moved to the searching area, where the two hard objects were discovered to be white and rock-like, wrapped with Sellotape,” he added.

Once unwrapped, it was discovered that the substance was heroin with a street value of R140,000.
