Re-opening of schools for the second term |12 May 2018

Students must realise the importance of education, says Minister Siméon

At the beginning of the re-opening of schools for the second term, Education and Human Resource Development Minister Jeanne Siméon would like to wish all students, teachers and management teams a successful term.

The following is Minister Siméon’s message:

“All students must realise the importance of education and the need for them to work hard and to focus on their studies at all times. We are all aware that there are different sorts of distractions within the community and at times in our own homes, but, we must all be mindful that the main responsibility of a student is to study, study and study.

“To all teachers, I wish to reiterate the full support of the ministry in the work that you are doing.

As a team we will work hard to uncover the diverse potentials of all students within your care. Do the best you can so that no child is left behind.

“I call on all parents and the community as a whole to support the schools and teachers. Show interest in the work that they are doing.

Let us all be positive and supportive towards each other and work towards the progress and achievements of all our students. Always remember that education is our shared responsibility”.
