David André and friends in concert this Saturday |01 August 2013

Well-known Seychellois vocalist and guitar maestro David André will be in concert this coming Saturday from 7.30pm onwards at the International Conference Centre (ICCS).

David will be on stage with a panoply of friends who will include vocalists Pat Nanty, Serge Robert, Joe Samy, Belinda Moncherry, Karishma Moolraj, Norman Lucas, and musicians like Tony Julie, Mervin Nibourette, Channel Kilindo, and Vivian Amelie.
The Choral and Music Society will also be present.

David has described the show as an occasion to reminisce good old days with tunes from the Beatles, Bob Dylan, Neil Diamond, George Moustaki as well as some sweet old Creole ballads.
When questioned on the line-up choice for the evening, David had this to say:

“I will die, my children will die but those stars will always be singing with their lousy voice. It is to remind the public, especially people of my age of the immortal music style we grew up with.”

However, David assures us that the show will not be exclusively for 40 or 50-year-olds, as he wants us, especially young people, to reflect on this style of music which can be for them a source of inspiration. At the same, David is inviting all his friends and fans, especially those in quest for a special outing occasion, or those living abroad and currently on holiday, to come and sing along, connect with the past and have a good time.

However, David has said that he will not be performing songs from his newly released album, but will rather keep those for another concert to be held in September.

The aim of Saturday’s concert is to raise funds for the Choral and Music Society of Seychelles and tickets which cost R150 are on sale at Ray’s Music Room, Cave à Vin, Photo Eden and Alliance Française. Tickets will also be on sale at the door on Saturday.
